Entertaining and Unique – 7 Cities Review

While not as polished as the current heavyweight Fieldrunners, 7 Cities TD provides a lot of entertainment. I particularly like the ability to magnify tower effects using the obelisk. The skill tree is a fantastic idea, I hope to see additional branches as well as more towers added in the near future. The maps are very well done and a joy to look at.  I have some suggestions: - The text is very difficult to read. I found this to be true throughout the app, the font used is quite light and, while it's cursive style adds an air of authenticity to the internal documentation, it does not provide good readability. - Towers should display some visual cue indicating their upgrade level. - Many of the towers too closely resemble the ground, which makes them difficult to select. Perhaps darkening the ground layer or adding some kind of fence or border would help differentiate the towers from the ground. - Finger scrolling when zoomed in seems sluggish and unresponsive. - Would like to see more "in-between" frames for attacker animations. - Would like the ability to build towers more closely together. The current hexagonal grid seems rather widely spaced, thereby forcing players to spread out defenses over a larger area. - Eliminate the long pauses between ending and starting a new game...It seems to me the unnecessary return to the home screen after the game ends creates a lot of wait time to start a new game Overall, this is a fantastic app and certainly raises the quality bar for tower defense games on the iPhone/iPod touch. I can't wait to see what the developers have in store for future versions!
