Strategy Fun – Everlands Review

I love hexagon strategy games! This one is very easy to just pick up and play without spending hours reading a manual. Yet there is a nice depth to the game due to each animal's special skills. Plus the each animal can only attack in certain directions, adding a nice strategic element. The story and characters are somewhat on the childish side. (Would have loved to see monsters and heros doing battle with some epic storyline.) But they are nicely drawn and fit with the pick up and playability of the game. My only real concern is the length and replay ability of the game. It seems you can go through a level quickly (at least early on) since you only need to win 50% of the board to advance. I'm sure that this will become more difficult in later levels, but I'd love to see a leader board (percentage) for each level. So you would want to go back and beat your best efforts or some other incentive to replay the levels. I hope they make this game universal with some bigger maps for more in-depth play. For the first release version it's great fun for those who like strategy games. Plus it's a pretty easy jumping on price. Give it a try.
