Great game with good mechanics, but needs polishing – Samurai Wars Review

This game is great, but it needs a fair bit of work. Because of the advantage you get from camping, many players will just sit on a hill and let their archers/riflemen slaughter half your infantry before they can reach the enemy, with your archers/riflemen also practically demoted to virtual melee units that can barely fight. Something needs to be done to make camping less useful(I'm not saying that using a hill to give yourself an edge in a legitimate way like retreating or when outmatched after a heavy loss should be rendered useless, I'm just saying that camping on a hill shouldn't give you an auto win scenario. Solutions to this could include a feature that neutralizes most/all terrain bonuses in the first few(or at least 1) minutes in the game, a function that cripples attack/defense capabilities after camping on a hill for over 3 minutes(harder to implement), or some kind of objective that can win the game(there could be a flag in the middle of the map, and if your entire army is in the cap circle for over a minute without the enemy attacking you, you win. I also think that siege weapons that do minimum damage over a fairly wide area that have no elevation restrictions can be used. This way, if the enemy is clumped up on a hill, you get your siege weapon, aim at the hill, and it hits everyone, doing a small amount of damage to each army, translating to half a regiment lost in the first salvo, forcing the enemy to spread out or attack. The game could also use a bit more depth in general, perhaps a campaign or some extra modes for battle( capture the flag, etc).
