Needs definite improvement – Ace Hunter 3D : Big Buck Deer Review

This is supposed to be a hunting game, but it does not have the feel of a good hunting game, nor does it have the fun of a mindless shooting game. The aim is to shoot up to 3 deer, earning money for each. Eventually, you can buy some kind of assault weapon with a scope, plus unlock 2 more scenes. There seems to be a bug where you can buy the scope rifle, but you won't get to use it until you also buy one of the additional scenes. After you buy the 2 scenes and the rifle, the money plays no further part in this game. The weapons are not very realistic. You start out with a shotgun of some type, but you can shoot as much and as fast as you want with it, turning it into a fully automatic assault shotgun with a huge magazine. The assault rifle operates much the same, except with a scope you can zoom with. In either case, it doesn't much matter since you can just rapidly fire at the cluster of deer until you kill 1,2, or all 3 of them, with little skill involved. The control is handled via tilt (i.e.- the accelerometer). Unfortunately, there is no calibration for the tilt and no option to use anything else, so the control for your weapon is wild and innaccurate. Perhaps that is why the game allows you to shoot so often and so fast, to make up for the poor control. The last winter scene involved some bears, not deer, that appear to want to attack you head on after you shoot at them. I'm not sure what happens when they catch you, but I didn't care enough to find out. There are far better hunting games available and far better shooter games. This game is neither one. 2/5.
