Still buggy, perhaps even worse than before – 21-Day Meditation Experience Review

The previous version had issues, but at least you weren't forced to sign in 3-6 times a day. With this one, you get logged out every so often. Whereas this version is visually more appealing in some areas, the mantra/meditation submenu is neither sensible nor pretty. A lot of this is due to the dimensions of the main header vs. the media player vs. the scrolling menu in between. The main header takes up a big chunk of the page. Same for the media player, which doesn't allow you to toggle backward or forward easily (in case you miss a portion). The quick rewind button doesn't work. And you can't see the full title for the daily lessons. There is a "Download for Offline Use" button on every lesson. The mantra right above is in size 9 font and in gray, which gets washed out by the this button. You will find that you can't actually access any download for offline use. 1) The track is not available in any other functional media player outside of the app. 2) The app will immediately shut down if you try to access it when your phone is not connected to wifi. Unlike before, the daily lesson doesn't open to all of the info upon click like previous versions unless you select "More Info". This may be fine if the resulting layout is as clean the the previous one. Here the header also takes up a more than a third of the page. You see the thought, the mantra, and the message in scrunched form below with no soothing image in the background. Bottomline: The design is too cluttered. The UX is not intuitive. Compound all this with buggy functions, the app does the opposite of what it is meant for.
