Please help – My GPS Coordinates Review

My gps shuts down if I receive a text message or email. If I get a message or whatever it just stops. If I don’t check it I lose my mileage and time. 2. Unless I shut down my phone I cannot turn off app. Can you please help me with this? Thank you Nancy B
