BETHESDA PLEASE READ THIS!!! – Fallout Shelter Review

This game is great already, but I wanted to convey some ideas that I and a lot of other people would LOVE to see added into their vault life. To begin, I believe you (Bethesda) should implement another layer of security for players to build in the case of an emergency. If you look just above the vault entrance room, there is a slight incline that leads to the top of a hill. This incline is where you should add a sniping location! Think of the possibilities of having a sniper outside of the vault that could inflict damage to soften up the incoming dangers of the wastes. The sniping post could have an increased advantage the higher the sniper’s perception is, which would be the result of them landing more shots. If that’s not your thing, how about adding mines, barricades, or pits to the area that leads to the vault door. When raiders approach the vault door, think of how glad players would be knowing that maybe one of the gang members would be up in an explosion of a plasma, or fragmentation mine they had crafted prior to the attack. In addition to this, the barricades I mentioned earlier could be crafted to act as the vault door would. Adding places to the area where raiders approach the vault in which the player could plant these barricades would be an addition that would add more flexibility before combat at a balanced expense of materials the player scavenges in the wastes. These defenses could even warrant another room to add to the vaults where the dwellers could customize the traps to place outside their safe haven. Also, pits could be added to possibly delay one member of a group of hostiles so that the gang becomes more isolated, making them easier to manage one at a time during an attack. Bethesda, I have to ask, why haven’t you implemented grenades to the dwellers’ inventory slots? This is an obvious functionality that is sitting right in front of you! I’ve seen the plethora of grenades in Fallout 4, which is exactly why I am baffled as to why you have not added them here. I’m sure you could find some way to make them balanced at all stages of the game, yet still not be affected by one’s agility status, so as to behave differently than guns and melee weapons. Another quick tip I have for you is a caravan system! Think about it. A traveling merchant could show the overseer what they’ve got in stock, and in turn, give them caps for what they’ve got or take their caps or Nuka Quantum to gift them an item of sorts. Also, this is just my opinion, but I don’t like the whole disaster functionality. It’s very pesky and can cause big worry when I have external affairs to attend to and suddenly, I have to combat the fire, roaches, rats, or scorpions, heal my dwellers who were affected, and collect more resources for when I return to the game. The reason raider attacks and deathclaw attacks are so much better is because the overseer can earn some sweet rewards for scavenging the raiders’ bodies and inspecting the deathclaw corpses. Also, it is better knowing that they will have to breach the vault door to access my vault’s supplies, which supports my previous defensive ideas in the beginning of my review. Other than those, some quality of life changes would be nice, like a silenced alarm during attacks to your vault, and instead just a vibration of the phone, which wouldn’t work on PC obviously. Perhaps the overseer has to double click/tap dwellers in order to access their items and status effects, which would help declutter the screen. I really hope Bethesda has read these suggestions and implements them in the future!
