Missed Potential – Art of Conquest : Airships Review

They have a lot of mechanics that you can build towards. Research, heroes, void, dragon raids, siege, looting, events, temples and more. So many things to do that you can play for a long time every day if you wanted, but could also play an hour and keep up with the best. That is, if you paid enough. The game is squarely in the Pay to Win grouping. For most players, it will be a balancing of resources to try and keep climbing, which was amazing! But with players spending a lot of money, some would come out ahead with more heroes and more stats and units. They made small changes over time, like making it easier to unlock heroes for free, but it generally became more and more tilted towards these money spenders. You can buy stats in every single area. Buy exp for heroes and cards for them, suddenly you’ve got the highest stats and get that coveted 30% stat boost against enemies. Buy enough tunes and you outscale your opponents, another 20-40% stat boost. Buy enough speed ups early and you start levels ahead and get gold units before others (and a non-payer can’t stand against you at all). There are so many advantages to buying linari in HUGE quantities, and it stacks since they tend to win events that give more linari as well. All in all, you can enjoy the game, but unless you’re a willing to spend 10-100 times the cost of the most expensive pack ($100 for me) then you’re not going to be a leader in your realm and your impact will be whatever the whales want it to be. And they’re just going to keep adding these mechanics. - Sincerely, a long term player from Realm 99 who finally quit
