Mediocre: Be Smart, Don’t Start – Does not Commute Review
This is not just a review on Pin Out. This is a review on Mediocre and it’s apparent fondness for a single, all-mighty in-app purchase.
Looking at the video for Does Not Commute, as well as the one for Smash Hit and the one for Pin Out was great fun so naturally I thought it would be fun to actually play the games. Was I right? Yes and no...
All of Mediocre’s games are far beyond mediocre in design and gameplay. The problem is with their business tactics. They’re excellent. Too excellent. You see, each Mediocre game has a premium mode you have to pay for. Only once you sacrifice $1.99 on said premium mode, as I realized too late, can you access your hard-earned checkpoints among various other things. And only when you access the checkpoints do you really have much of a chance at getting past Checkpoint 2 in this game alone (provided of course that you have my skill level).
VERDICT: If you don’t think 2 dollars is that much to spend on a video game, keep an eye out for Mediocre. They will satisfy only if you fork over money.
