There was a time when Windscribe was great, and sadly that time has passed. – Windscribe VPN Review

05/27/2018 We have been using Windscribe for about a year or more. In the beginning Windscribe has been fantastic. Over the past few months we have nothing but problems... across multiple ios and macos devices. The main problem is that your device will 'try' to connect, and that connection sometimes never happens...whereby we find ourselves forever with disrupted service. When it does not connect you end up spending your life changing a variety of settings (windscribe on/off or locations/ airplane mode / VPN in settings - million little experementd a million times a day in hopes of restoring a connection...sometimes a full reboot. This problem has made our lives hell. Better still, Windscribe support has acknowledged this as a problem months ago and still no fix. Tech support has pretty given up...so we consider that a big fail. We are not heavy users, our devices are pretty much standard issue...nothing unique. Issue is across all our devices, on every network (cell and Wi-Fi (and Ethernet for laptop.) Worth noting that support also blamed Apple for these problems, to which we couldn't understand why their vpn peers do not have these same Apple imposed vpn issues. When you actually are connected to Windscribe, you will be faced with extra capthcas from dozens upon dozens of services (even a basic Google search.) You will also discover that you will be banned from more services than you will expect (from CraigList (incl. OfferUp/LetGo) through certain email and banking and everything in between. Understand that we are not knew to VPN, and we understand that many services actively discourage von use. That said, these problems are much worse under Windscribe than they are under countless other VPN services. Windscribe's answer is to change locationss (aka spend more of your life changing settings.) For those who prefer to use individual openvpn certs, be prepared to manually configure each and every one one-at-a-time. Windscribe still lacks a tool to batch configure the openvpn certs. Better still, Windscribe considers the certificates as a non-supported channel if your platform has a native Windscribe app - so do not expect a drop of support for certificates. In my case, the certificate will connect after manually providing your credentials - the device will give indicators of being connected - and yet they are fake indicators every time as manual IP checks show no connection. Note that VPN blocks other ports that will prevent remote activities. -- VPN SUPPORT We've tried and tried with countless tickets. We think this can be addressed without logs, and we think that the majority of responses (while good in the beginning) have faded to disinterest and dismissed. Our days are hell with forever interrupted online access.
