The pins indicating earthquake epicenter change location by as much as 600 miles when shrinking or expanding maps. Notification of an earthquake will give magnitude and location but, usually, you can’t find the location. Even the list of earthquakes for a U.S. state or magnitude doesn’t list an earthquake of large magnitude within 3 or 4 minutes of the notification. Many earthquake epicenters are mis-plotted. . The maps don’t show all the earthquakes that happen in an area until you get down to a scale so small you can’t see all the activity. You can’t determine trends in the seismic activity. In essence, this app is of little scientific or professional value, and thus should be considered useful for entertainment purposes only.
