Has serious problems – Ride App—automatic ride mapper Review

If you are a serious record keeper, this app is not for you. It doesn’t record the route accurately at the beginning of a ride and just draws a diagonal line, underestimating the distance. Sometimes it starts late, so the starting point is not even right. For a long ride this is not a problem, but the app is more geared toward a frequent rider who does not want to be bothered by turning it off and on between errands. It records all trips, so if you leave your house on a given day, no matter whether you ride or not, it counts that as part of a “streak.” I currently have an 11 day streak, and I only rode my bike 6 of those days. Assigning modes of transportation seems to be random. Car, bus, train, bike, whatever. It records car trips as train trips when there are no railroad tracks anywhere nearby, or bus when it is not on a bus route. It complimented me by thinking I could bicycle at a steady 35 mph (the speed limit) and called a car trip a bike trip, when all my other bike trips were average 10 mph or less. It definitely needs some work. I would prefer it not record all my non-bicycle trips. I’m not interested in keeping track of my car trips. It is called Ride Report.
