Terrible app – Cambridge Connect Review

[ISSUES RESOLVED: it took me a week of daily correspondence with support, but it now works. Pandora is still not supported, but it’s worth joining Spotify which has excellent integration here. Most will not have the problems I did. Excellent device and app once it’s working. Changing score to 5 stars.] You will not find a more inadequate app in any category, and online evidence is that this has been true for years, giving one little hope. The CXN cannot be conveniently used without an app, and this does not suffice. The value of the otherwise exciting CXN is much reduced by this, and better supported streamers should be considered instead. (If customer support can resolve this I will edit or upgrade this review.) - Adds songs to queue in random order, so no way to play an album as intended by the artist without manually moving them around. - changes to queue do not show until you exit it and return. Makes rearranging a ridiculous process. - no shuffle function, next track, fast forward or back. - does not show my connected USB drive or its songs at all. - contrary to online claims, no on/off or volume control (even with correct control bus connections). - its stripped version of Tidal lacks ability to save tracks, artists, or songs to favorites. - Instructions for connecting to Spotify through the app do not behave as described, and I have not been able to connect. Same goes for the advertised ability to add other streaming services. Not possible as far as I can tell. Maybe Tidal (a brand new addition) demanded exclusivity? - Pandora is officially no longer available on the CXN (not technically an app problem). What is?
