Ultimate means nothing... – iBird Ultimate Guide to Birds Review

The app is great. The in app purchases, are not great. I thought Ultimate meant something. I guess I was wrong and wasted 20 bucks when I bought the trio of ibird apps. Now they add Mexican Owls which is another 1.99. Isn't Mexico part of North America? And doesn't Ultimate mean "there's nothing beyond this limit"? Guess not... I guess a part of me always knew this developer would begin charging for additions to this app. I have actually written to them about developing a birds of the world app, like the software for PC that you can buy on Amazon but is outdated and doesn't work on the new Windows. I would definitely pay for an "Ultimate" bird app that covered more than just Hawaii and North America like this app does, but not if there are micro transactions like this app has. This app is not Ultimate. It's barely scratched the surface when it comes to birding. Covering one continent doesn't make it Ultimate. It quite simply means "the best achievable or imaginable of its kind." If this is the best achievable or imaginable of its kind then I think we have overestimated the word "Ultimate" since day one.
