Headache comes free with this app – Daybreak Defender Review

After foolishly ignoring the 1-star average rating and over a dozen reviews warning against it, I took a leap of faith and installed DGC Defender. My phone is an iPhone X with latest OS as of March 30, 2018. It took awhile to install. It stuck a long time at 75%, but eventually I was able to launch the app. My first impression, just looking at the interface that looks right out of the 90s was that perhaps this was a beta or work in progress. I also thought that perhaps Daybreak was going for a nostalgic web-look from the EverQuest launch era. I created a new daybreak account and signed up for all-access, then opened the app and entered my login information. Although I verified the login was correct, even copied and pasted once to be sure, the log n failed. So, I went to the website on my PC to change my password to something easier to type on my phone and to verify my sanity as well. When I logged in, I saw a suspicious activity notice, and it asked me to setup my mobile for SMS secondary authentication, which I did. I entered the 6 digit number and went to login, and saw the message “this account has been disabled.” Then, I tried to call DayBreak to ask for help. As it turns out, they will not accept any phone calls. An automated message directs you to their support web page. Next, I went to the support page and because I could not login, had to create yet another account. I did so reluctantly, and entered my plea for help. Days later, my excitement for returning to EverQuest has faded. I saw an email stating that if I did not reply within 3 days to my ticket that it would be closed automatically. I logged in with my 2nd account (the one I had to create to seek help with the other that was disabled) and saw the ticket was waiting on my reply. However, there was absolutely no message or response from anyone at Daybreak. So, I posted a “hello, hello, hello, is there anybody in there” message. Nothing. Bottom line, they took my money and time. Perhaps if I would have never bothered with this app, I would be in SolB right now or maybe Lower Guk. Instead, I’m playing WoW and typing this review on my iPone.
