Works like a charm – Big Finish Audiobook Player Review

I'd heard people had trouble with the original version of this app, but it's working great for me, even over a hotel network. This only works for audios you've purchased via the Big Finish website -- including CDs, since most CD orders include a digital version -- but this way you don't have to fight with iTunes or some other third party software to get Big Finish audio onto your phone/tablet. Sorting, searching, filtering have been heavily revamped. Use the filter button to sort ranges, or search for a companion's actor to zero in on the particular audios you want, then download those onto your device. The controls for fast forward/rewind are easier to use than iTunes. Once you're listening to an audio, click the speed button to zip ahead or toggle the menu to jump ahead 5 or 10 minutes or to the next track or episode. UPDATE March 2018: Big Finish has been digitizing its early audios that were originally available only on CD, like Gallifrey and the Five Companions. If you purchased these items through the BF website, they have been added to this apps' library TL;DR: While I used to be OCD about downloading and organizing all my BFs in iTunes and then transferring them to iPod or tablet, this app is now my go-to. (Addendum to fans who have't tried BigFinish: I've been watching Doctor Who since 1978, and IMO this is some of the best Doctor Who in any medium. It revived my love of the show and brought me back to TV Who as well. I haven't listened to many of the new Who audios yet, but the ones I have heard have been excellent (The Diary of River Song and a few Tenth Doctor episodes). There's something magical about having more episodes with YOUR old Doctors, companions, and the original actors, with better scripts on average, and no budgetary constraints for FX or location shooting! Also, a lot of the companions are better-written, given more to do, never treated as mere eye candy, and respected for their individual skills. Big Finish has done such good things with Nyssa, Mel, Peri, Susan and Polly that it's hard to believe TV couldn't have done more with them. I think the Doctor is the only one who has twisted an ankle in audio. And the Sixth Doctor is absolutely magnificent. Once you've heard what Colin Baker can do with good scripts, let alone fantastic ones, you'll be sorry he was saddled with so many questionable production decisions and poor scripts on TV. (Also, there's the amazing Gallifrey series, the Eighth Doctor's award-winning series, and the Time War.)
