Good Game with a Few Issues – Real Racing 3 Review

Overall, the game is average. The only thing that really stands out to me is the graphics, which are phenomenal. But the rest of the game is my problem. First of all, some of the cars in the game sound nothing like they do in real life. For example, the NASCAR stock cars in this game sound nothing like they do in real life, even with all the upgrades; and I watch a LOT of NASCAR. Secondly, some of these cars are overpriced. For example, NASCAR (I’m using NASCAR as most of my examples because this is an area I really want to play more of, but you guys have developed this area of the game poorly). In the game, the first car you buy is the Chevrolet SS stock car. It cost around R$200,000 and it’s max speed before upgrades is 176 mph (which is ridiculous bc the max speed of a real stock car right now with no restrictive plate is around 235-240 mph). At some point early on in the NASCAR area of the Motorsports section of the game, you’re required to buy the Ford Fusion. Why the hell does it cost double that if the Chevrolet SS?! Before the discount, it costs R$400,000, and it’s max speed before upgrades is around 180 mph (basically, it starts out as a faster car than the Chevy SS). Here’s my issue: all stock cars in this game should cost the same price & here’s why: all stock cars today go the same speed. Aerodynamically, they may be slightly different, but they go the same speed because of NASCAR rules & regulations on building and engine for their cars. Chevrolet’s, Ford’s, & Toyota’s in the NASCAR portion of this game should cost the exact same because they all go the same speed in real life. Plus, some of the racing in this game is stupid. Like, in the NASCAR Academy, you have to race at Daytona. A big part of racing at Daytona is being able to work the draft to fight your way to the front. In this game, the draft is almost nonexistent and none of the CPU cars are willing to draft or bump draft with you. This game is almost impossible to play and complete without investing real world currency into it, and if you’re gonna complete the game without spending anything, it’s going to take more time to complete than this game is worth. I’m in college. I don’t have a whole lot of free time on my hands to play this game, so if I want to make some serious progress in this game, I’m gonna have to spend my own money on it, and some of the cars and upgrades in this game are just downright too expensive. Please take all these issues into consideration. And since you probably won’t (considering it’s made by EA, who doesn’t listen to their customers virtually at all), please make another iPhone game specifically for NASCAR. Make the game with these same graphics, but everything is free. Include every driver in the MENCS and every track they race at. Just a game where I can play as my favorite driver and race. That’s all I want. Real Racing 3 isn’t as real as you guys are trying to make it out to be and everyone knows it, so either fix it or make another game, PLEASE!!
