Not the game that’s advertised, and not a good game – Word Charm Review

The ads for this game look like some kind of Tetris-Boggle cross that might actually be interesting. But when you install it, it’s nothing like that. It’s yet another clone of the same game that already exists a dozen times over on the App Store. Maybe if it were a better implementation of that same game, it might be worth more than 1 star, but it has the exact same problems as all of the other clones. For example, the intrusive ads are poorly implemented so they sometimes hang or crash the game. And, more seriously, the game itself is useless. You’re expected to come up with the “right” words from a string of letters, but, e.g., given “aefln”, you don’t get credit for common words like “lane”, while you’re expected to come up with things like “flean” that aren’t even words. What’s the the point? To see whether you can exhaustively try all possible permutations of the letters?
