Great app. Works pretty well! – Onward - Reduce Tech Addiction Review

It has great tactics to help combat addiction however, from a design view point, the “pause for five minutes” button is very close to the “I feel suicidal” and “call 911” buttons. They also all look the same. Have you read “the design of everyday things by don Norman? Everyone on the design team should. Also, I wasn’t really clear what the “I feel triggered”button meant and decided to roll the dice and click it. It’s nice that that button offers suggestions when you’re triggered to use the internet irresponsibility but it just wasn’t clear that’s what was being communicated. The checkins felt like they were giving me a new addiction to do. I’m just skeptical of businesses marketing but maybe it’s a good thing to check into your phone in a different way than what you were doing before to wean you off? Lastly the format where it’s like “artificial Ai” talking to me? Yeah I think it’s kinda silly to have “...” as If the thing is typing or thinking. I’m not talking to smarterchild. I’m trying to see my stats! Lastly part 2, app wouldn’t open when I wanted to pause 5 min even when I closed out all other apps, it wouldn’t open. I’m being highly critical because it’s a great idea and app.
