Sega Forever this is not – Atari's Greatest Hits Review

So I go on the App Store, I browse through the games and I see this. "A collection of all Atari's classic games? For free?" I thought, "that sounds awesome!" You see, as a millennial I haven't exactly had the chance to try many of these games ,what with growing up in a post Nintendo world and everything, so when I saw an app advertising all the Atari titles (bar the ones made by Activision) for a millennial's favorite price: free, I decided I would download it so I can finally figure out what all the fuss is about with Yar's Revenge and Millipede. After downloading the game I am greeted to the infamous Atari logo that's been stamped on such irreverent games as Alone In The Dark: Illuminations, ET The Extraterrestrial, and Cybermorph, with a track record like that what could possibly go wrong? Everything. After seeing the red mark of the beast (now painted white) and being guided into the menu I realized I was in trouble. First thing I see is a menu telling me I can buy the games for $9.99! Now 9.99 isn't that steep of a price, but when put into consideration that these are 40 year old games and Sega is giving away Crazy Taxi, a game that's a little under 20 years old, completely for free it kinda makes you wonder if this is worth it or not. That's not even the worst part, they have the gall to add a "token play" option where you can essentially rent one of these ancient games for $1! These are games you can play for ¢25 at a laundromat and they expect you to pay a dollar to play it? I know this sounds petty and makes me seem like a cheapskate but when you put into consideration the competition with Sega's "Sega Forever" line and the fact that there are totally free equivalents to all of these games on the App Store already this app is a total scam! Don't waste your money, you can play almost all these games through other means completely for free through legal means and through emulation.
