Haunted Hotel: Personal Nightmare by LynxMinx – Haunted Hotel: Nightmare Review

Time to face your worst fears, everyone! I now know mine is named musaphobia (fear of rats) although there were other phobias in the game that I probably have as well. However, I chose to overcome fear and play this thrill ride of a game. You could customize settings. The graphics were very frightening but at times also hauntingly beautiful. Collectibles included morphing objects, puzzle pieces, and phobia artifacts. There was no cohesive journal but objectives were regularly updated. There was an excellent teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. The HO scenes had variety, but none were extremely unusual. There was a decent selection of puzzles and games. At each location there were quite a few tasks to accomplish, and inventory usage made sense. This game flowed well and ran very smoothly; I did not encounter any glitches. However, this game was quite short even inclusive of the bonus adventure. Although scary at times, this game was entertaining and enjoyable to play. I am deducting a star for length. Considering that we are now paying more for games, we should be getting more gameplay as well. Elephant does a terrific job and gives us an addictive game, but their games have been getting shorter each time. I would suggest you buy this game while it’s on sale, because it is way too brief to pay full price. Happy gaming to everyone! Note to KimTwilight: I knew this was going to be a short game and I was really unsure if I wanted to buy it, but your review convinced me that it would be a great game. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy a terrific game and also to face my fears! I am NOT a coward after all.
