Poor management of storage on iOS device and productivity issues. – My Passport Wireless Review

For anyone considering purchasing a WD device because of this app will make it work with your iPhone/iPad: I would recommend looking elsewhere. This app rarely gets updated, and it has bugs with the file manager that have been present for over a full year and a half now. Now lets discuss the issues with the app itself: As the title says, this app does a poor job of managing how it manages space on your iPhone or iPad. For example, lets say I download a five folders (each holding 2GB of content) from my cloud device for a total of 10GB downloaded to the app. I later decide I want to delete one of these folders, thinking it will free up some storage space on my iOS device. If I go back into the iPhone/iPad storage option in iOS settings I will see that the app is still using the same amount of space for documents and data. So my only option to free up that space is to go into the app and use the clear cache button, which will remove all downloaded content from my device. If I want the other four folders on my device still, I must go and download them again. Another feature I would like to see is the ability to have my selection for viewing the HD version of a picture be kept between pictures. For example, I open a photo and tap the HD button and swipe left to view the next photo. I would like to not have to tap the HD button again. Adding to this, I would also like the ability to save multiple items to my camera roll from my downloaded folder at the same time. Presently you have to open the photo or video in the app, then in the viewing window select share> more> save image. Presently if you try selecting a few pictures you want to save to your camera roll then tap the share button in the file manager, it will open a new email and add them as attachments. Make the share menu for the file manager (at least for the downloaded tab) behave the same way as the more button in the viewer window I mentioned above and it will be quite useful. Finally, there is a small bug in the file manager when selecting multiple items. Sometimes check boxes do not appear next to all of the items within a directory. This seems to occur when using the select button or when you bring up the selection feature by long pressing on a file. You can still ‘check’ an item, but without the checkbox you have no way of really telling if it was checked other than counting the number of items you tapped and comparing that to the number of items the app says you have selected.
