Not great for research – MyHeart Counts Review

The messaging in this app suggests faulty conclusions if it’s being used for research purposes at Stanford, here’s an example: I’ve had a week of dealing with a respiratory infection and a resulting decrease in my usual exercise routine. In addition, I’ve reported feeling less happy because of my illness, so the app’s coach sent a message alerting me to the fact that people who are more active than I are also happier than I. That was NOT helpful. There’s no provision to note that I’m less happy and less active because I’m sick at the moment and the messaging from the coach suggests that I could improve that by being more active, when actually I need to rest indoors for a period of time so that I can begin to feel happier again. In addition I reported by blood pressure in my profile on one day and now I can’t add any updated readings. My profile is forever stuck with one BP reading on one day.
