Poorly conceived level design – Homescapes Review

Match-3 games are not new. This game is not original. The story around it would be fun, but after 200 levels, I am still in the kitchen. Moves way too slowly. Update: It is a power-up game. Whether you make or buy them, power-ups are absolutely necessary to win a large minority of levels. The entire level design is predicated on making it difficult to make the power-ups. Original: The transitions are brutally slow, but the real reason the game gets a poor rating is that in harder levels, skill is not required, luck (or money for lots of power ups) is. The “bars” breaking only by power up ruins this game. It is poor design to require multiple specific power ups at different points on the board within a limited amount of time. It isn’t “hard”, it is strictly “hope.” Finally, it is just way too expensive. Bug: I just lost a level needing to remove 2 more donuts. Except that for the last 3 turns there were NO donuts on screen. Big bug. The special event is no more than the regular game. Nothing special about it.
