Now with more Adware! – MyRadar Weather Radar Pro Review

New “message of the day” popups on the paid pro version are Adware for star whatever PC game. The ONLY content updated on pro are marketing for that pc game. The weather parts are nothing special and need fixes, but testing the backdoor ad software is more important to the developer. It’s now basically a trojan to push unrelated ads to the appstore notes, and the in-app popups... while still showing the weather so people keep it installed. Notice the recent onslaught of obviously fake reviews? Nothing good comes from an app needing such tactics. Deleting it now. Previously: Srsly hoped this was a joke. Fake moons instead of REAL content from NOAA, NASA, ESA. What next, Tatooine? Fillory? The Upside Down? ‘Weather’ parts are partially broken, nonfunctional ‘temp/pressure’ charts block the screen, making forecast data too small to easily navigate. Why are charts broken and breaking the layout, but fake moons are added? Stuff like this cause users to question the integrity of the app. Updating the code of thousands of devices for totally unrelated ‘partner’ content? What else is hidden in the app that ‘undisclosed partners’ have paid to stick on our devices? Last year we had full screen video mattress ads blaring every time we opened the app (still not over that) this year it’s moons for an unreleased PC game... I feel all icky and dirty after reading update notes laced with spam for an unrelated product. It crosses a line. Heat-index, additional map styles, solar weather, historic weather for viewing previous days/weeks/years, would all be great.... even fixing the broken layout would be nice... but not fake moons from a PC kickstarter. Just. No... Seriously, make a separate GAME app for MMO gamers with maps for WoW, Guild Wars2, Star whatever moons, etc.. if that’s the content being developed.
