Paid for the monthly subscription but word won’t activate – Microsoft Word Review

Cannot get word to activate, tried all of the troubleshooting steps with no luck. Says “Your purchase was successful but we were unable to associate it with your Microsoft account”. I finally cancelled my subscription and removed all Microsoft apps from my devices.
