Doesn't work correctly/too many ads – Free Tone - Calling & Texting Review

The only reason I use this app is to text friends who have android phones because I have an iPod and I can't text an android phone from iMessages. That is the SOLE reason I use this app. I hate it: that's why I'm writing a review. I never write reviews. Things right: 1 It can effectively text over wifi. (Thought I'd start with the positive.) Things wrong: 1 I'll text a friend from this app and then go into another app or turn my iPod off and sometimes it won't send me a notification. So I won't see that I have a message until I go into the app which may be a half hour later since I didn't know that they responded. 2 If I get one message, I can read two lines of it on my lock screen. If I get two or more, a single notification will show up and say "2 messages from Sandy" or however many messages there are from Sandy. But I can't read any of them on the lock screen. Highly irritating, let me tell you. 3 When I'm in another app and I get a message through Freetone and I pull down the banner to read it, but don't respond, there is still a red 1 next to the Freetone app on my home screen. The app souls register that the message has been read. 4 Almost every time I go into the app, it asks for a review. I want to talk to my friend, not leave you a review. 5 Ok, I get that the developer has to make money by putting ads in their app so stupid people click on them. Or you click on them by accident because the app is glitching. But the amount of ads in this app is outrageous. And for someone who is quite visual, it's like torture. There are banner ads at the top of my inbox which cannot be closed, and they're often video ads too. When I go into a conversation, immediately an ad pops up in my texting space right above my keyboard and takes up 1/3 of the screen. These ads cannot be closed. When the keyboard is up it takes up 3/4 of my texting space, which is annoying because I want to see what my friend said and type a response at the same time. Sometimes when I send a text, my keyboard will disappear and be replaced by an ad (which can be closed). Really!?! You possess the nerve to take away my keyboard too? I use this app to talk to two friends three or four times a week for about half an hour each time. I'm not going to pay $10 to remove ads on an app I will no longer use when I get a phone in roughly four months. You had a nice crisp mint and white theme going and then you went and wrecked it with all these ads.
