Drums sync to original acoustic guitar songs accurately – Music Memos Review

I was surprised by how great this app worked to match a drum beat to my songs. For me it’s very accurate but probably not perfect to more trained ears. If you can keep time while strumming then the drums will follow and even anticipate when to accent or play fills. For me the whole reason I downloaded the app was for the drum backing, and after 10 years of playing acoustic guitar while constantly struggling to get them right using other music recording software, Music Memos works well. Maybe I’m the only one who found it difficult to match drums to an original acoustic song but this app solved that for me. It has been very cool to here some of my original songs with drums and a bass backing them. Bugs: While it’s true like many of the other reviewers have pointed out, there are some bugs that remain in the app. However from an honest point of view as somebody who has used the app extensively, I would say the ratio of the bugs and there affects on my recordings in a negative way is negligible. Keep in mind that there are many factors that cause bugs and many are not found within the app itself. Some people may be using older generation devices, or they may have devices that are low on memory which can cause glitches, or perhaps they may be over using the app. Let me explain.... this App in my opinion is designed to record a song to give you an idea of what it will sound like, not to fully produce and fine tune. Maybe adding some drums and bass to it with minor adjustments that app allows will give a good sense of the sound your looking for. But your overall goal should be to export to a dedicated music recording app or software. That’s one of the best features of music memos is that you can easily export it to GarageBand. This works great as it creates a new project and puts everything in waveform in separate tracks including your acoustic song, the drums, and the bass. Now your ready to mix. Interface: The app is very user friendly. All you do is hit record and play a song with your guitar using the built in mic or an audio interface. When your done just tap the drum icon, and boom your song just became a bit more real. Tap the bass icon and listen back. Need to make adjusts in timing, then change from 4/4 to 3/4, to 6/6 with ease. Trim, adjust bass notes, and Walla. Your very own song, look at you! Bass: To be fair I have found the bass is consistently inaccurate on matching the chords. In a way I don't mind the bass notes not matching b/c the app allows you to change each individual bass note and correct the inaccuracies note for note. This perceived flaw has actually opened up a new level of song creation. By having me fix notes almost every time it has allowed me to experiment with different variations of chords I have played getting a better overall sound. Maybe the Am7 sounds better then the Am? Well it’s easy to change and then just listen back to hear the difference. I have just worked it into my routine knowing I will have to go through and fix the bass notes, but considering I’m using an ai for a bass player who still does runs, I can live with that. With all that you have a well designed app for shaping fuller sounding songs, having drums and a bass to bring your song to life.
