A game with something to say – The Witness Review

Very, very few games use their main gameplay mechanic to pass a message instead of relying on text or cutscenes. From the symmetry island’s fading yellow lines to the monastery’s flashes of inspiration, this game teaches you an incredible language of satori. What few bits of dialogue exist serve to underscore the importance of the game’s message. The Witness says things in ways no book nor film ever could. One small suggestion for the iOS release: give a little haptic feedback for iPhone 7 and above whenever you hold down on a circle to begin tracing a path!
