Brilliant idea. Lousy execution. – Domino World AR Review

I’ve now tried a number of AR apps on the App Store. This is probably the best suited idea I’ve seen for iOS’s current AR capabilities. Unfortunately, it simply doesn’t come at all close to its potential. Once the dominoes are set up, they don’t stay suitably fixed in their environment. Instead, they float and jump around, completing failing to appear as though they’re part of the real world environment. Another, though lesser complaint is the inability to topple the dominoes by tapping the starting domino. Instead, you press a “Start” button to initiate the topple sequence. Hopefully, the technical deficiencies here will be addressed. Until then, this remains a squandered opportunity, a poor example of AR, and a waste of 3 dollars.
