Good concept poor watch connectivity – PEAR - Personal Fitness Coach Review

I really like this app conceptually. It provides a lot of variety of workouts. The trainers are nice and I find that I generally get a good challenging workout with the app. The problem that I have is that the functionality of using Apple Watch as a heart rate monitor is quite poor. When you have a very limited time window for exercise, you don’t want to have to spend an extra 10-15 minutes just trying to get the app to read your heart rate while you workout. Sometimes I can’t even get the watch app to display the workout information at all after starting a workout on the phone. I really wanted to subscribe to this app, but I don’t think I can without significant improvement of the interaction with the watch.
