Broke My Uke String? – Precision Ukulele Tuner - with Chords & Metronome Review

I really love this app and use it to tune my Soprano uke a lot. But...my tenor uke was falling out of tune so I used the app on the "Tenor Ukulele" setting and as I started the first string I was like "this seems a little tight.." but the app told me to keep going so stupidly I did and now my Uke's string is snapped & I have to get it repaired. What's up with that? Is the tenor uke tuning wrong? Please look into this. ?
