"Finger painting with ideas" – Audulus 3 Review

That's a line from the Audulus documentation, and it is 1000% accurate. This app is hands down, the best iOS app I've ever used, of any kind, period. It's interface is revolutionary. The sounds you can make are endless, and truly limited only by your imagination. For instance I was curious about how formant filters worked (what they did to the bass guitar at the beginning of "Livin on a Prayer"). I went from a Wikipedia article to directly implementing those ideas in Audulus to make my own morphing formant filter from scratch, in about a week of playing with Audulus on my iPad while laying in bed. You can download my formant filter as well as about a bazillion other amazing things, on the Audulus forum, which is an amazing and fertile user community. Best money I ever spent in the App Store.
