Don't Bother Wasting Your Time / Memory on iPhone – Deus Ex Universe Review

First of all, I will point out that app only has a single use and that is to scan triangle codes collected in game. None of the other features - showing your stats from the game, showing items from the Database tab in game, ect. - actually work as there is no way (at least not an easily discernable one) to connect the app to the actual game. Second, even if those features did work, the primary reason people probably download the app is b/c of the "additional content" promised in game if you download the Deus Ex Universe app and scan the codes. When I see the words "additional content", I think actual in game content - not YouTube videos where the devs talk about the game. I don't mean to make it sound like I don't care about the devs and what they have to say as we wouldn't have games without them, but given that my time (and likely yours as well) is limited, 1) I don't have time to sit here and listen to YouTube videos about the deeper meaning of something in the game and 2) feel like Square-Enix should explain what the "additional content" actually is as it somewhat feels like false advertising. Lastly, even if you don't mind most of the features not working, and even if you're interested in watching the videos from the devs, chances are you will get annoyed fairly quickly with the scanning part of the app. It does not have the ability to zoom in on your TV screen to make the triangle fit into the viewing area, so chances are you will have to waste time getting up and trying to get the triangle code positioned correctly so that the app can recognize it when it scans. That along with piss poor keyboard integration/interaction doom this app (and that's even if everything else worked correctly) so don't waste your time or your phone's memory on this junk!
