Typical Over-Priced Games Workshop game – Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf Review

EDIT ON 7/27/17: Today they are offering sets of three cards for $5.99-$7.99. I have lowered my rating to one star and am deleting the app. It is a store, not a game. I feel sad for people who are paying this kind of money for this kind of game. I love 40k and this game experience isn't so bad. Completely, ridiculously over-priced. App deleted. EDIT ON 7/9/17: I had to lower my review a star when I came to realize that this is probably a $30-$40 dollar game if you want to complete it. Characters only gain power by spending credits, credits cost RL money. The developers toss a few to the player now-and-then, but it is merely crumbs. They'll hand out 30 here, a few hundred there...you need thousands to advance. You'll get stuck eventually...and then that sweet, sweet temptation of throwing more dollars at the game so you can move forward one map. Your tactical choices as a player don't much matter. It's all about money-leveling and powerful cards. So it is a store, not a game. It's an intriguing creation. I love the sound effects and they do a great job of capturing the 40k feel. However, I now resent it more than I enjoy it. I'll not delete it, but I probably won't play it, until the next update. I give it a 50/50 chance of staying on my phone after then. High production value, music, graphics, sounds, details, etc. Designed to frustrate the player into spending money. Hell, I even gave in and made a $8 purchase, if only to support a "free" game for the time I've spent enjoying it. -however- Even with my investment, the game is incredibly difficult and weighted against the player. More money would he required to avoid the "45-minutes-to-fail-with-absolutely-no-gain" scenario. The game is fun, but not so fun that spending almost an hour only to lose a mission and accomplish nothing doesn't chafe. I'm not going to give GW any more money. All of their products, digital or material, are simply overpriced. Games Workshop's entire business strategy is to wrangle as much money as possible from any customer. 5 stars for quality, 2 stars for wrapping a greedy business acumen in sheep's clothing.
