Love but need help – Creature Garden by Tinybop Review

I feel silly, but I do not see any help/tutorial. It's simple enough to operate and great colors/interactions, but I can't figure out why my creatures keep failing on the treadmill tests. I made a creature with 6 wings and he still failed the treadmill fly test! What helps them pass? UPDATE - thank you for the very fast response no I have not and I will!!! I'm a full grown adult by the way...love the game ??
