Framafoto is a gamechanger – Framafoto: Photos & Art Framed Review

Like a lot of parents of two young kids, I've managed to capture and amass a collection of special family moments on my iPhone. But until I discovered Framafoto, revisitng and reflecting on these memories was confined to a 4" screen. Of course, I've marked/liked/heartedsome of my favorites, with the intent of finding time to go to Michaels or any of those custom framing stores and have them put together something special. But there's always a hockey practice, gymnastics class, baseball game or someplace that we need to get to. 8 years and dozens of "perfect" pictures later, I've been to the frame store exactly once. I left empty handed and exasperated - not only by the price of at least a few hundred dollars for one picture (despite the "70% off" coupons that fill up my inbox), but also by the number of choices I had to make. It felt like I needed to have dual Art and Engineering Degrees to ensure that I was making the right choices about mattes, color palettes, bevelled edges, etc. Framafoto has solved all of that. Creating a custom frame from start to finish took about as little time as it takes to add filters and effects to a Snapchat or Instagram picture. And there's no guesswork about how the choices I made would actually look when put together - the preview is a great feature. The craftsmanship of the frame is impressive, and for a guy who can't draw a straight line, I smile even more knowing that I was able to design this work of art myself!
