Great Video Recording App! – MAVIS - Pro Camera Review

This is the third manual-control type app I've tried. I learned of it from Robbie Carman of Lynda.com and I agree with his enthusiasm for the app. My problem with the other apps I've tried is the interface; they've all got similar levels of manual control but you really have to work hard to get things where you want. This app puts everything important front and center and puts everything else you need behind a shallow (as in not lots of layers deep) menu system so everything is within easy reach. I also love the monitoring functions (focus peaking and zebra) and adjustable frame rates, resolutions, and encoding rates. I usually run my iPhone as a backup during video shoots (e.g. I shoot dance recitals for the local dance studio) in case anything catastrophic happens to my primary camera, but I've struggled to get the focus and exposure right in the default camera app. Looking forward to using this app during the next shoot!
