Saved a portable JBLbspeaker – Equalizer Review

I bought an older model of JBL bluetooth speaker for cheap, hoping it wouldn't be egregiously hyped on the low end, It was, until finding this app anyway. I am using the built in bass cut setting with good results. There are about twenty different prefab presets. The app also lets one totally customize the EQ curve to suit with a familiar interface--there are seven (!) control points to adjust. I've used desktop digital audio workstation apps that don't have that degree of flexibility. Custom presets can be saved and even sync'd via iCloud. In a nice touch, the button to access the curve editing changes shape to show what the active EQ is. Very cool. One can quickly ascertain what the active EQ is without having to get out of a playlist. The player is way better than the Apple Music app too. (Well, I guess that's not much of a compliment.) I can see playing all music through this app and using the flat setting when not using the bass-heavy JBL speaker. As far as I can tell, the app does not hava a means of putting EQ on the output of other apps--audio must be played through the app so I don't think it will work with the Apple Music streaming service.
