Not ready for prime time – Voice Bridge Review

If you need or want to keep a landline, being able to take landline calls on your mobile wherever you are is great, as is being able to route calls over wifi if your cellular connectivity isn't that good wherever you may be. Unfortunately, this hardware/app combo doesn't do either of these things very well. Calls are extremely laggy and often disconnect on both cellular data and home/office/public wifi networks. This does not seem to be a bandwidth or connectivity issue in any of these cases. Also, despite the recent update, the app still doesn't work well with Bluetooth devices. It's improved, but still call quality is poor and somewhat garbled on Bluetooth headsets. One more thing -- using the app to call another phone which also has the app installed requires both parties have the app open and active to receive notification of the call. This makes the mobile-to-mobile feature basically useless. Nevertheless, the developer seems to be working to improve all this, so I'm hoping these problems will be eliviated at some point or at least brought up to acceptable levels. I 'll update this review if that is the case.
