Assistance please – Pokemon GO Map Radar - Find live realtime pokemons Review

I think this is a great app and I've used it quite successfully. However, I don't know how to participate in the app myself. If I catch a rare Pokémon, the app asked me to upload a picture. Should that be a picture of the Pokémon I'm battling (easy, but premature as I don't yet know if I will catch it) or a Pokémon I've seen on the 'sightings' screen? I've tried to participate, but haven't seen my contributions on the map afterwards. Need some detailed instructions here... Thanks.
