Is hanging on first screen part of the game challenge? – Can You Escape The 100 Rooms 1? Review

Downloaded the game, ran it, got a splash screen graphic for a tenth of a second, then a black screen. Nothing changes with any action, tapping or gesture. Stop and restart the app. Still stuck. Went to the developer web page for help, clicked on a game menu link, the link takes you to the same menu page with the links on it. Useless--UNLESS that's all part of the puzzle.
