offline docs unavailable, laggy – Google Docs: Sync, Edit, Share Review

It's supper laggy with new iOS10 for my 5C, typing especially, the main point of this app. the amount of time from keyboard tap to character appearing is incredulous. It's usable, but I make tons of mistakes. It's like playing an FPS with dial-up. Maybe it uses tons of CPU, what, to type? I suspect there are rapid/instant app to server updates which is pretty cool bc I can live view my wife typing while we're hours apart, but obviously that's gotta be slowing things down on a non-high-end user (5C not 7). Yes all other apps are closed, I've hard & soft reset, delete/reinstalled the app, no change in speed. I have 2GB of free space on my device. I heavily use docs, it's my primary notes/list app, and files cannot always be viewed offline in spite of you techs saying they can be, too many times I've been screwed while at the grocery store and cannot load my list!!! It is selected to store offline, believe me. Sometimes it will work and it'll say 'changes can't be saved', but I put it to you that they CAN, how about it updates the changes when it come back online, hmm, why is that such tough coding?! Also it always restarts the entire app if I don't return to use it within a few mins. I hope this is just an apple coding flaw, but I would expect to return to the same line I was writing on when I tap the app icon again, but mostly I have to let it 'reload' all the docs' list, then re-find my doc I was working on, then re-find my place in the doc to continue, and it all goes really slow bc it says it's loading loading loading. Major buzzkill!
