When you die, do you respawn at the base with your progress saved? – Moon Space Station Survival 3D Review

I don't venture far because I'm so paranoid one of my health indicators might go down or I'll get surrounded by aliens so I usually head outside, mine a couple things and head back in I feel like I'm missing so can someone please tell me if you save your progress when you die???
