Great looking, but repetitive – Legend of the Skyfish Review

I read a preview saying this was the best Zelda clone to come to iOS. Personally I wouldn't even compare the two. They are both top down action style RPG games, and it does try to invoke classic Zelda nostalgia, but after a few minutes you will find it is a quite a different game. Gameplay centers around the ability to swipe at enemies and use a grappling hook like fishing rod. Each level is set up as a short puzzle that must by completing by swiping down baddies and swinging yourself from island to island. There are upgrades and things to avoid, but that is pretty much the gameplay. New items and puzzle changes are regularly introduced, but they are small and don't do a lot to break thr repetition. This makes it hard to stay invested. Bosses are few and far between and most enemies are only fun to fight the first few times. All in all I would say it is a visually appealing game with little depth to the game play and story. Add a few change ups to the gameplay, mini bosses, and items and it would be a much more rewarding game. P.S. If you want the best Zelda clone for iOS Oceanhorn still takes the cake.
