Not a new game, but still a 5 star in my book! – Haunted Legends: The Secret of Life - A Mystery Hidden Object Game Review

When I saw this advertised at a trial price, I decided to download it and give it a whirl. In about five minutes, I realized that I had bought and played it in the last couple months. I'm not quite sure why this is being presented as a new game and all of the previous reviews are nowhere to be found. You might suspect it's because the reviews were poor, but I find it hard to imagine that would be the case. This is one of my top 10 favorites from Big Fish. You play the role of a healer who has been sent to rescue the spirit of a possessed girl. You must visit her several times, each time with different potions, dark enemies, and secret rooms to discover. Notwithstanding the eerie nature of the plot, there are humorous moments throughout, and the town that is hosting you offers an entertaining cast of characters. I was truly invested in the storyline and did not correctly predict the ending! For me, there was just the right blend between HOP and minigames. Difficulty ranged from somewhat predictable to moderately challenging. Multiple steps are required to discover and or assemble the hidden objects. The map and journal are top-notch and readily accessible. The bonus chapter is equally well-done, with a plot that follows directly from the main game. There are approximately 7-8 hours of gameplay total, and if you love collectibles, it will take even more time to find the morphing objects and various figurines. I paid full price for this game, but I would do so again. If you have the opportunity to buy this for $4.99, I strongly recommend that you take advantage of it!
