Ton of fun - turn-based rpg – Siralim (RPG / Roguelike) Review

This is basically Pokemon (Gameboy) meets Dragon Warrior (NES) with old-school graphics and sounds but a more optimized control interface and more in-depth gameplay. Also, there is a nice bit of added comedy. You capture monster cores from the monsters u fight which lets u summon that type of monster so u can build up a team of monster warriors. You then level those monsters (and your character) via randomized battles in randomized realms u adventure to. U can find/buy/craft various weapons, weapon upgrades, power-ups, spells, and so forth. It is awesome u can try it before u buy it. I played for 20 minutes and knew right away I'd enjoy it. So the game is great whether u have an hour to play at a time or only 5 min. U can put it down at a moment's notice. I like that. The only real negatives I can see with this game are it involves reading a lot of text quickly (often repetitive text), there is a lot of level-grinding, it seems a little light on storyline, and I have had a really difficult time figuring out which of the 5 or 6 resource icons represent which resources. The icons r so small and non-descriptive I have practically given up on figuring out how much of each resource I have and I just assume if there are lots of big numbers I probably have enough resources to build whatever thing I'm wanting to build at the time. Overall, great game. Totally worth the $5.
