Help! – Utility Spreadsheet Review

I like this app but I have trouble adding columns! I've looked under SUM but it seems to me it's adding rows. Can someone help me with the formula? Also I noticed that in the App Store columns are highlighted. I don't see anywhere on my app where that is an option.
