Not reliable – Alarm Clock HD Review

I have had this app for more than a year, and has done a very good job...with the 2 exceptions the alarm unexplainably failed to come on. This morning was one of those times. Had my cat not slammed off the window sill, thankfully only a few minutes after my alarm should have gone off, I would have overslept. I double, triple and quadruple-checked everything to make sure I had set it right: alarm on. Set to AM. Volume on. The mute switch was not turned on. App running in the background (which the app doesn't have to be on in the background to work, but does if you want to wake to your own music). Everything checked out. It simply didn't come on. This app has lots of cool features: newsfeed, weather, adjustable colors for the clock, and a smooth fade in for your music so you aren't jarred awake (the selling feature for me). But none of these bells and whistles mean a thing if you cannot rely on it working.
