Halo: Spartan Strike – Halo: Spartan Strike Review

I was going to come into the AppStore and leave a 2-3 star review, mainly because of the controls (and some issues actually getting the game to run - little tip - it needs GameCenter to work, so if you are dealing with the GC bug, you're not gonna get the game to get past the 'connecting' screen; updating to iOS 9.3.2 fixes this), but then I fiddled around with the sensativity in the options menu and everything has clicked since. I really can't believe I'm playing Halo on my phone. That it follows along with Halo 2 is a HUGE feature for me as well. The original XBOX with Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 is what got me into the FPS genre. I can't tell you how many times I've played through Halo 2, eventually making it through Legendary difficulty. It's definitely one of my fondest video gaming experiences. I'm 100% sure that this has impacted my view of Spartan Strike, but I couldn't be happier about it. Even though the game is a dual-stick shooter, they have captured the vibe and feeling you get while playing Halo absolutely perfectly. Also, if you have an MFi controller, you will not have to worry one bit about the controls, because there is full MFi support. I'd check it out, but I bought a MOGA and it only works with my 5 (which is still on iOS 7), so I'm stuck playing with the virtual controls. Thankfully, that sensativity slider was added in an update and they are perfectly manageable. And while I would VERY HIGHLY recommend Spartan Strike, I think I'd stay away from Spartan Assault. Compared to SStrike, it's a total step backwards. If you DO plan on getting both, I'd, again, recommend playing Spartan Assault first so that you can FULLY enjoy everything that the developers have done to enhance SStrike. The only thing I wish they would have added is the energy sword. I know melee hits take out most enemies in one shot, but even just having the character reach back and grab that sword while melee'ing would be an awesome addition. **And when THAT is your biggest complaint - you should know that you have made this Halo fan very, VERY happy. Thank you! =oD
